After graduating from Michigan State University with a Hotel and Restaurant Management degree in 1979, I went to work in Food Service Marketing for Sara Lee Bakery. During this time, I earned a Masters degree in Marketing and Finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. In 1986, I joined Vlasic Foods as Director of Food Service Sales and Marketing and five years later became VP of Marketing for Awrey Bakeries.
In 1994, I joined AT Kearney as a Management Consultant, and had the opportunity to launch Franklin Food Service Solutions in 1996. In 2006, I helped launch the SMART Share Group of Food Service Broker Agencies, which has broadened my perspective on food service issues.
I started as a one-man operation, and continue to operate that way. Companies that work with Franklin Food Service Solutions work with Dave DeWalt, from the initial conversation through the project design, the hands-on work, the recommendations, all the way to successful implementation.
That said, I’m blessed with an extensive network of Food Service industry experts on whom I can call to support projects whenever appropriate.
